Friday the 2nd December was a very special day for HENNA Pre-School. It was the day that 55 young learners graduated.
The day dawned beautifully, and members of the community gathered together to share in the celebrations. Special guests included the Induna of Huntington; representatives and guests from Lion Sands Game Reserve; Thembi Mdluli, Robert More, Jenny More; Pieter Joubert and Pumeza Mququ from More Community Trust; a representative for the Department of Social Development; The Huntington Teachers; and very proud Parents.
The excitement was tangible as the youngsters, dressed in their graduation capes and hats, marched towards the waiting audience to the beat of the accompanying drums.
Each child was called forward to take acceptance of their graduation sash, certificate and a special gift.
Said Robert More, “The graduation was the best one yet but more importantly I can see such sustainable progress and momentum in the Community. I thank and acknowledge the amazing courage of Thembi Mdluli, such an integral part and driving force of the community. I am confident our successes will continue into 2017 and beyond, and that we will deliver to giving the people of the community a chance to shine and engage in South Africa’s economy.”
We are so hopeful for all of these children’s futures, and and proud of the role we have had to play in directing them towards a greater and more prosperous future.
Here’s to a momentous 2017, with another batch of South Africa’s future citizens – and perhaps leaders.
