Siphiwe Ubisi: A Testament To Hard Work

When Siphiwe Ubisi was selected for the Skills Development Programme she knew her life would finally change for the better…

Growing up in Mpumalang’s Justicia B community, she always had a passion for the education system and becoming a teacher, but was met with adversity early in her life.

She thought her dreams of becoming a teacher were shattered when both of her parents passed away, leaving her and her 2 siblings to be raised by a close relative.

The pressure of being the eldest and being the breadwinner in the family motivated her to achieve her dreams – not only for herself but also for her 2 younger siblings.

In 2018, hard work and good timing came together perfectly for Simphiwe. Jabez Preschool had just opened, and More Community Trust was looking for 3 women from the community to fill teaching positions.

After an interview with us, Siphiwe was selected to join the Skills Development Programme and was given the opportunity to enrol in a one-year Early Childhood Development programme.

Siphiwe has not only become a teacher, but has also recently passed her Level 4 NFQ Early Childhood Development qualification and become an Early Childhood Development facilitator at Jabez.

Siphiwe is a testament to hard work and having a belief in a brighter future. We couldn’t be prouder of her achievements!
